Electrifying the world one village at a time
For 45 years, NRECA International Programs has provided people in developing countries with access to safe, reliable, and affordable electricity.

Success Story
Bangladesh

Since its partnership with the Rural Electrification Board (REB) began in 1977, NRECA International has played a critical role in building what many now regard as the developing world’s most successful rural electrification program. Thanks to NRECA International’s ongoing commitment, Bangladesh now has 70 rural electric societies or PBSs (Palli Bidyut Samities), serving 85 percent of the country’s villages. The country’s rural electrification program has attracted more than $1.3 billion from international donor organizations.
