For 45 years, NRECA International Programs has provided people in developing countries with access
to safe, reliable, and affordable electricity.
Success Story
Since its partnership with the Rural Electrification Board (REB) began in 1977, NRECA International has played a critical role in building what many now regard as the developing world’s most successful rural electrification program. Thanks to NRECA International’s ongoing commitment, Bangladesh now has 70 rural electric societies or PBSs (Palli Bidyut Samities), serving 85 percent of the country’s villages. The country’s rural electrification program has attracted more than $1.3 billion from international donor organizations.
Changing Lives
Tomas Panjoj Jorge, like many other agricultural producers and entrepreneurs in Guatemala, has taken full advantage of the available credit provided by the EFP Trust Fund to improve post-harvest processing, capture greater value from their products, and improve the competitiveness of their enterprises in the domestic and international market.
