The rural electrification programs that NRECA International has established in Latin America, Africa and Asia have provided over 100 million people in over 40 developing countries with access to safe, reliable, and affordable electricity. NRECA International has designed, constructed, and operated hundreds of rural electric utilities, while building local institutional capacity — including the training of personnel — to own and manage them.
NRECA International provides comprehensive training programs in all aspects of utility operations and management to ensure that local institutions can effectively and efficiently operate and administer a functioning and economically viable utility.
NRECA International has developed and implemented rural electrification programs with generous funding support from USAID, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and other bilateral and multilateral international organizations such as the World Bank, the U.K. Department for International Development, Asian Development Bank and host country government agencies.
