The NRECA International Foundation’s volunteers - many of them from America’s rural electric cooperatives - travel to developing countries to help electrify rural areas. The NRECA International Foundation’s volunteers help bring electrification to remote areas around the world. They do this by helping to build or revitalize electric systems, by teaching safety practices and maintenance to local crews, and by sharing cooperative principles. Volunteers help empower locals to take ownership of own their electrification, ensuring the project’s long term sustainability.
