By donating a vehicle to the NRECA International Foundation, you could help support vital electrification projects in developing countries. If you choose to donate a vehicle, it will be used for one of three things:

• The vehicle will be shipped overseas and used in an NRECA International Programs project.
• The vehicle will be donated and shipped to an electric cooperative or village in a developing country.
• The vehicle will be sold for its fair market value in the U.S.. We will then use the proceeds to fund Foundation programs, both overseas and in the U.S..

Because the NRECA International Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, the fair market value of your donated vehicle may be claimed as a charitable deduction for tax purposes if the Foundation uses the donated vehicle in its programs or gives the vehicle to an overseas electric cooperative or village to use. In accordance with new requirements under the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004, individuals and corporations that donate a vehicle that is subsequently sold by the Foundation may claim as a charitable deduction the gross proceeds the Foundation receives from the sale of the donated vehicle. When a donated vehicle is sold, the Foundation will provide the donor with a letter acknowledging the donation and confirming the gross proceeds realized from the sale.
