The NRECA International Foundation helps U.S. electric cooperatives to partner up with overseas utilities. These sister cooperatives, as they’re called, work together to spread electricity throughout the developing world. By providing donations, raising money, and sending volunteers, U.S. electric cooperatives are able to nurture and assist fledgling electric co-ops overseas. Currently, a number of domestic cooperatives are working in partnership with their overseas counterparts to bring electricity and hope to remote parts of the globe.
