Sudan Volunteers
(NRECA International Foundation, November 13, 2007)
The NRECA International Foundation is recruiting three volunteer linemen to go to Sudan as part of a six-person team (we already have three volunteers confirmed).
The volunteer team will build the distribution system for a small village that will provide electricity to 30 families (about 200 people) that have never had electricity to their homes. This opportunity is considered a hardship assignment because there are neither utility vehicles nor power tools – all work will be done by hand and climbing every pole.
The assignment is from January 12 th returning to the US on February 3 rd, 2008. The NRECA Foundation will pay for all costs regarding the assignment (travel, lodging, meals, visas and other miscellaneous expenses related directly). The volunteer must have a valid US passport, with an expiration date after July 2008.
Please contact Ingrid Hunsicker if interested.
