U.S. – Georgia: NRECA Foundation to make a presentation to the members of Sumter EMC, Americus

Sumter Electric Membership Corporation holds its Annual Meeting of members on Saturday in the gymnasium at South Georgia Technical College. This year’s keynote speaker is Ingrid Hunsicker, senior program manager with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) International Foundation located in Washington, D.C.


Hunsicker has worked for NRECA International programs for 11 years, both in the Guatemala Regional Office and NRECA headquarters in Arlington, Va. In her current position, she is the operational manager of the Foundation’s volunteer and sister cooperative programs, as well as the Foundation’s top fundraiser.


Hunsicker’s previous professional experience includes 10 years with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Guatemala, working with the displaced, returnees and refugees of Guatemala’s civil war. It was during her time with the UN that Hunsicker made the conscientious decision to work in social development projects that would afford people in Third World Countries the hope for a better future.


The meeting will be called to order at 8 a.m. for the purpose of registration and voting for any contested elections of directors between 8 and 10:30 a.m. The business session of the meeting will be called to order at 10:30 a.m. at which time registration and voting will close. During the business session the membership will: 1) hear reports of officers, directors and committees; 2) elect directors whose seats are not contested; 3) receive the report of the Credentials and Election Committee on the election of any directors whose seats are contested; and 4) conduct all other business that may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment.


Entertainment provided by SweetWater will begin at 8 a.m.
