(International Foundation, January 26, 2010)

Downed Line
NRECA emergency response team members Myk Manon and Christian Ponce inspect a downed distribution line in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.

The NRECA International Foundation's emergency response team in Haiti has identified the following as immediate needs for restoration of the earthquake-stricken nation's electric system:

Substation: There is immediate need for a portable substation (69 kV/12.5, Delta-Y, 25-30 mW) in good condition. For further details on the unit, visit the International Programs Web site.

If your co-op is willing to donate a unit, please contact Ingrid Hunsicker via email or by phone at 703-907-5629.

Volunteer Engineers: The relief team is also seeking a Design and Construction Engineer and a Planning Engineer to travel to Haiti in the coming days/weeks. If you are interested, please send Ingrid Hunsicker your resume via email. Please indicate whether you currently have a valid U.S. passport or that you would be able to expedite one.

Further needs will be announced in the coming days and weeks.
